Ultra wide angle lens - An extra-wide angle lens. Generally refers to 35mm camera lenses with focal lengths shorter than 24 mm.

Umbrella reflector

White umbrella: the perfect reflecting surface for portrait lighting. It is both soft and very efficient.

Silver umbrella: Maximum light output with excellent coverage. A silver umbrella improves lighting softness without compromising power output.

Translucent umbrella: For flattering lighting no other material gives a better result than a single layer translucent umbrella. Either shooting through or reflecting, the softness is unbeatable.

Underexposure - An image is underexposed when the film receives too little light for proper exposure. Underexposure results in loss of detail in the subject’s dark areas, which can be almost completely black and featureless.

Unipod - A "Monopod," a single-legged camera support that functions in a manner similar to a tripod.

UV filter - Lens filter used to absorb ultraviolet radiation, which is prevalent on hazy days. Like skylight filters, UV filters have no effect on the exposure.
