MANGLED FLASH
HEAD CONNECTING CABLE
By following this simple procedure you can eliminate most Kinks and Coils that
develop in the flash head connecting cable.
|
It may look good and have a nice
appearance when you tightly wrap the flash head connecting cable around the
flash head when packing for location or just putting it in a safe place. But
this practice is a No-No
Kinks and Coils are annoying intruders that can cause intermittent operation of
the flash head, shorten cable length and make it very difficult to handle.
|
 |
What
causes the Kinks and Coils to form?
 |
During
use of the flash system the wire connectors in the connecting cable become
very warm. Some type of plastic insulation that also gets warm covers these
wires. During this time the insulation has expanded, when you tightly wrap
the cable around the flash head it cools down and the insulation contracts.
The expansion, contraction and tight wrapping of the connecting cable cause
Kinks to form. |
